Every Sunday I make the majority of the meals we will eat throughout the week, either prepped to be cooked or fully cooked, depending on the individual dish. One of the big staples in my house is Slow Roasted Whole Chickens. I am able to make them into a variety of delicious meals.
One of my most favorite meals is Chicken Fajitas. Normally I would season the cooked chicken and veggies with a pre packaged fajita seasoning, but once I fell in love with Keto, I realized the ingredients in the package just didn’t work anymore.
Have you ever looked at the ingredients on the back of prepackaged seasonings? The first ingredient you see is Maltodextrin. Couple that with the starches, flour, sugar etc. and your meal is no longer Keto Friendly and you risk being kicked out of Ketosis.
I completely understand the convenience of prepackaged seasonings, I relied on them so heavily before I began Keto. Just consider that it really only takes a minute to blend your own, and if you put it in an airtight container, you can store it with your spices and have it on hand which will be convenient for future you! Not to mention you probably already have all the ingredients on hand and it is SO much tastier. Seriously you’ll wonder why you haven’t been doing this the whole time.
So to start, place all ingredients in a small bowl.
Whisk together until well blended and store in an air tight container for future use.
I know, that is literally all it takes and you now have a delicious, keto friendly seasoning ready to go for your next Fajita night!
